Biography:
Patricia McRhoads is a North Carolina New Teacher Support Coach who supports both beginning and veteran teachers by being a reflective thought-partner to facilitate their growth as an educator and help them meet their individual goals. By developing strong relationships between teacher and coach, she believes educators feel safe to take risks in the classroom and experiment with strategies that support students in the classroom. Patricia believes that transformation change in schools comes from tapping into our core beliefs about teaching and learning.
Patricia’s passion lies in literacy instruction and feels in her element in the elementary classroom, although she has supported teachers in all content areas in grades PreK-12 as an instructional coach. Currently she is working on learning new methods in facilitative conversations to increase her effectiveness in the coaching cycles she leads. She works hard to empower teachers in taking the lead in their own learning process to be the best educator possible for their students.
Patricia is a licensed in the area of Elementary Education (K-6), School Administration, and a certified Curriculum Instructional Specialist (K-12). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from UNC Charlotte along with an Administrator’s License from Western Carolina.
When she is not serving teachers in schools, Patricia can be found going on adventures with her daughter Taylor or working on building her DIY skills with home projects!
