Instructional Coach

Biography:

Courtnie Edwards  is an Instructional Coach with the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program (Charlotte Region)  who supports beginning teachers with a focus on student growth and achievement by providing one-on-one in the moment coaching, data driven solutions, and research-based strategies to meet the diverse needs of the educators and students she supports.   Courtnie  knows the impact that a quality teacher can have on student success and believes every student deserves equitable access to a quality education.  

Courtnie has supported teachers spanning grades K-12, encompassing all content areas in both the public and charter setting.  She works to build trusting relationships with school partners, provide needs-based adult learning opportunities, and focuses on enhancing teacher’s skills in planning, instruction, and assessment.  Currently she is working towards aligning her coaching to the individual needs of her partners, teachers, and students. 

Courtnie is a licensed 6-12 Science and Language Arts Teacher.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from UNC-Greensboro.  She also holds a Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Education from Gardner-Webb University along with an Administrator’s License.  She is a former North Carolina Teaching Fellow.
